Layer cage system

Automatic feeding system
The Farmer Automatic V-Link chain feeding system has been used in farms around the world for over 30 years. Our design places the chain in a trough outside the cage, keeping it free from debris and allowing easy access for inspection and management. The long-lasting, wear-resistant chain distributes the feed evenly and, unlike some spiral feeding mechanisms, there are no injuries or mortalities.

Automatic drinking system
Farmer Automatic Layer Cages come with two options of nipple drinkers. Two nipple pipes per deck, the nipple drinkers and drip cups are placed in the partition walls of the cages. All hens have access to two nipples. The other option offers one nipple pipe per deck located in the center of the layer battery. A V-trough under the nipple pipe collects splash water and prevents wet manure. All hens have access to two nipples.

Automatic egg collection
The Egg Saver SystemŽ is another product of Farmer Automatic's creativity. This system, for which Farmer Automatic has a registered patent, practically eliminates hair-line cracks in eggs. Stopping the eggs just before they reach the egg collection belt prevents them from hitting others already on the belt. The Egg Saver SystemŽ is controlled by a timer which releases the egg automatically.

A 100mm-wide belt runs in an egg trough in front of the cage, taking the eggs along the battery line to the egg elevator. Before reaching the elevator the soft-shelled eggs and broken eggs are sorted out automatically. They fall into a special tray which is easily cleaned after egg collection.

Manure removal
Farmer Automatic manure systems are engineered for performance, simplicity and low maintenance. Polypropylene manure belts travel on rollers for safe, trouble free manure removal. The belts deliver the manure to the end of the cage row where manure cross conveyors remove it from the house to reduce ammonia and flies.

Proven technology
Farmer Automatic rearing systems have gear-driven manure belt drives which allow switching individual decks off. We use high quality galvanized steel sheets for easier cleaning and disinfecting of all partition walls, feed troughs, stands, and connecting profiles.
